I opted for the .STL file version as I’m based in Australia and wanted to speed up getting the rig made locally. A friend of mine who’s a mechanical engineer and owns a 3D printer was genuinely impressed with the design and commented on how well optimised it was for printing.

I was responsible for assembling it myself, and after sourcing all the required nuts and bolts from a local specialist supplier, the build process went surprisingly smoothly. I’m not exactly known for being fast at putting together flat-pack furniture, but I managed to assemble it and had very few issues.

After a quick test run, everything worked great straight away. I’m really happy with the result and I’m looking forward to using it to create more interesting and professional content for my social media.

This is such a great product for artists that want to create digital content for themselves! It can be a little bit difficult to get set up, since you're limited to a specific distance of your utensil from your phone. If you aren't using a long-handled paint brush, it's also pretty difficult to actually use the implement without just gripping the entire phone mount itself. I specifically bought this to use with fountain pens and nail polish, and I have had a really difficult time with both. But longer handled paint brushes don't give me nearly as much difficulty.

I would love it if there was an add-on or a second version where you could modulate the distance as well as the angle of the implement. It could be a coupler added to the hinge mechanism, potentially.

Works well. Holding a camera in the same hand as drawing is a bit more weight than usual, so I stabilize with my other hand. Very fun piece of equipment!
